It's Sunday, the start of a new week. Some notable things going on today include the Daytona 500 and my mom's birthday. Happy birthday, mom! Also, I think I'm done with my break.
Since February is almost over, I decided to get back online. For a moment, I felt like I disappeared from the earth. I was relaxing and enjoying my free time from writing. I feel refreshed and excited to blog again. I promise that I'll make up for the time I wasn't online. I'll probably be posting and blogging so much that you all will get sick of it. Lol! I can't help it. I have so many ideas going through my head, but I've learned to just take it one step at a time. I hope you all are ready because I am ;-) Sources, Artwork PaperGumBoots ![]() I just thought I'd let you all know that I'm still here. Overall, February is a chill month for me. Typically, the week of my birthday and the week after are times when I take a break. I'm trying to get better at letting you all know when I take breaks from my website, so bear with me. I will continue to keep you all up-to-date and bring new content. I promise I have some good stuff going on behind-the-scenes. I think it's good to relax. Last week was extremely busy for me, so it was nice to just pause. I reflected on my birthday, friends, family, etc. I recommend that if you have a second to just step back and relax, please do it. I feel as if our minds are on "go" mode, but it's okay to be still. So, this week, I want you to "press pause", and I plan to do the same. Have a good week, everyone! Sources, Artwork PaperGumBoots February is my favorite month. It features Black History Month, Valentine's Day, and my birthday. Right now, I'm just basking in the February glow. As my birthday approaches, I feel inspired.
Last year around this time, I was meeting with my editor, or as I like to call her, my book coach Jessica Tilles. Her company TWASolutions was putting the finishing touches on my first book Woman in The Wall. Now, I’m getting ready to unveil my third book, which will be out this March. Overall, I’m pleased, but I know I still have work to do. So, here’s my question. How do you seek inspiration? Below, I’ll discuss how I’ve sought inspiration in hopes that it can help you find your muse! My inspiration comes from trying new things for my business. I strive to do better as a self-published author by exploring different business strategies. For example, last year I wasn’t blogging as much, but now I am. I feel like as an author, blogging and writing go together, so I’ve learned to embrace the process. You all give me feedback about my content, which inspires me to keep going. Plus, I enjoy connecting with you all online :-) As we progress into the year, I hope you can find things to inspire you. I know I try different kinds of media (i.e. TV, literature, etc.) to gain a new perspective. Whatever you decide to do, I advise you do it with a purpose. I think change can be a good thing, and I challenge you to try something different. Sometimes, I have to make sure I’m taking my own advice, so I’m going to take the challenge, too. I plan to try new things this year (without breaking my wallet in the process). It may not be easy, but I promise it will be worth it. Like Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Don’t be afraid to shake things up! |
