February is my favorite month. It features Black History Month, Valentine's Day, and my birthday. Right now, I'm just basking in the February glow. As my birthday approaches, I feel inspired.
Last year around this time, I was meeting with my editor, or as I like to call her, my book coach Jessica Tilles. Her company TWASolutions was putting the finishing touches on my first book Woman in The Wall. Now, I’m getting ready to unveil my third book, which will be out this March. Overall, I’m pleased, but I know I still have work to do. So, here’s my question. How do you seek inspiration? Below, I’ll discuss how I’ve sought inspiration in hopes that it can help you find your muse! My inspiration comes from trying new things for my business. I strive to do better as a self-published author by exploring different business strategies. For example, last year I wasn’t blogging as much, but now I am. I feel like as an author, blogging and writing go together, so I’ve learned to embrace the process. You all give me feedback about my content, which inspires me to keep going. Plus, I enjoy connecting with you all online :-) As we progress into the year, I hope you can find things to inspire you. I know I try different kinds of media (i.e. TV, literature, etc.) to gain a new perspective. Whatever you decide to do, I advise you do it with a purpose. I think change can be a good thing, and I challenge you to try something different. Sometimes, I have to make sure I’m taking my own advice, so I’m going to take the challenge, too. I plan to try new things this year (without breaking my wallet in the process). It may not be easy, but I promise it will be worth it. Like Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Don’t be afraid to shake things up!

I appreciate this post so much because honestly, being a blogger can be taxing at times. I love writing and I do my best to provide quality content and work that comes from the heart, to those who take the time to read and share my work. Some days, I just don't feel...inspired. I think I seek inspiration in a variety of ways, reading the Bible/doing daily devotions, reading others' work, creating photography content, taking a break--sometimes, this is extreme but necessary. Thanks for sharing the ways you find inspiration--I will definitely try to incorporate some of your tactics as well. Glad we were able to connect on IG via Amber--excited to follow along on your self-publishing/book writing journey!
