I bought a business laptop less than two weeks ago. Imagine my shock to come home to a non-working laptop. I decided to take it to Geek Squad, since it was still under warranty. At my appointment, the tech explained that I should use the power off function instead of sleep mode if the computer isn't in use for a while. I learned leaving your laptop in sleep mode can cause it not to update properly and get stuck. That's the short version, but still informative. Fortunately, my laptop was fine, too. Plus, my files were on the cloud. If you have a laptop, turn it off after use to avoid the issue I had.
